Innovative Location Based Contact Tracing App - VeeTrace - developed by The Sona Group Subsidiaries

Doing our bit to help the people and health officials win the war against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, The Sona Group subsidiaries - Sona College of Technology and Vee Technologies have developed an innovative app - VeeTrace. This is a simple location-based contact tracing app, which was launched by the Corporation Commissioner of Salem, R. Sadheesh at an alternative market setup, in Salem.

The awareness vehicles for the app were then flagged off by Sadheesh, who also took time from his busy schedule to explain the features and benefits of this app to those present at the pharmacy stores, dairy market as well as the farmers market.

The app is designed to efficiently track the COVID-19 infected individuals and notify the app users when they will be within 10 meters, 100 meters & 1 km distance from them. VeeTrace can be downloaded from the Play Store and is compatible with smart phones with a data package. Voluntary public registration and regular status update is necessary for the success of VeeTrace. This helps to provide correct stats for the health authorities, which in turn helps them quickly track COVID-19 infected people.

VeeTrace is a simple app that needs only your name and contact number. As the success of this app is based on the number of users downloading and actively using the app, the higher the number of users, the better will be its efficiency to prevent the community spread.
