Mr. Chocko Valliappa, MD of The Sona Group, expressed his views on Labour Law Reforms, which is published in an article in Money Control
Money Control published an article on Labour Reforms that is passed in September 2020. The article is titled “Year Ender: Labour reform slowed down in 2021; will it pick up pace in 2022”, which shares the status of the reforms in terms of implementation and brings expert views on the reforms. The article cites the MD of The Sona Group, Mr. Chocko Valliappa’s views on the reforms.
Mr. Chocko Valliappa says the financial implication from the reforms is a talking point among the corporates. There are layers of worries which entrepreneurs won’t speak much about. He adds, there should be a balance between labor welfare and business welfare. He adds shifting to a new regime is not easy.
The article raises the question of whether the reforms will be implemented in the year 2022. Since employees are against some of the reforms, the article puts forth the government might bring the non-controversial ones into force first. Also, it might take time for the corporates to be ready for these new laws.
