He says the Indian Institutions should offer scholarships to attract foreign students. Whereas ICCR offers restricted scholarship funds to the colleges which needed to be re-thought.
The article titled, “Institutes supply scholarships to draw worldwide college students”, focuses on the correlation between scholarships and enrolment of foreign students studying in India. To increase the enrolment of foreign students in Banaras Hindu University (BHU), they have recently introduced funded scholarships for foreign students. This initiative could balance the restricted scholarship provided by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Mr. Chocko Valliappa, MD of The Sona Group, says, “There are restricted ICCR scholarship funds which aren’t ample, given the massive inflow of abroad college students. Fixing the identical hole, the administration of The Sona Group presents scholarships to 2-3 lakh worldwide college students chosen on the benefit foundation. The initiative has helped greater than 3000 abroad college students graduate from our campuses.”
