Mr. Chocko Valliappa, MD, of The Sona Group, shared his views on Union Budget's education allocation with The Hindu BusinessLine.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced Union Budget for 2020. The Government has allocated INR 1,04,278 crore for the education sector. To make up the challenges faced by the education sector during the Covid-19 times, she proposed to set up a digital university.

Educationists and industry experts shared their view on this move by the Government with The Hindu BusinessLine.

Mr. Chocko Valliappa said this announcement of the finance minister would strengthen the education sector and is highly welcomed. Digital University would provide a new avenue for keeping up with the technology and growth. Yet, the government has to consider financially challenging families. They should have access to smartphones and computer devices along with a high-speed wifi connection.
