SonaSPEED’s Brushless DC motor was used in the helicopter that hoisted ISRO’s RLV LEX on April 2nd, 2023

SonaSPEED (a part of The Sona Group) takes pride that its 25kW quadruplex 'Brushless DC' motor powered the IAF's helicopter hoisted the Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission (RLV LEX) to 4.5 km altitude from where it was released for autonomous landing at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR), Chitradurga, Karnataka. Professor N Kannan, head of SonaSPEED proudly said that the team in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department commits to developing and delivering indigenous motors and technology products for mission-critical products.

Chocko Valliappa, MD of The Sona Group, said, "Successful deployment of SonaSPEED brushless DC motors in ISRO's indigenous landing gear marks the arrival of 'Make in India' mission."
