The Economic Times features The Sona Group’s research competency evident from the selection of its stepper motor for Chandrayaan-3
In the article, “Talent beyond IITs: A small-town college supplied motors for Chandrayaan-3”, The Economic Times has highlighted the use of a stepper motor designed by Sona College of Technology with assistance from Vee Technologies (of The Sona Group), in Chandrayaan-3’s LMV-3.
The article details the competencies of institutes other than IITs, elaborating that these less popular engineering institutions have more to offer than everyone expects. It categorically mentions the Sona College of Technology’s part in ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 success.
The team at Sona’s research center, SonaSPEED, developed the simplex permanent magnet stepper motor with valuable support from Vee Technologies. “We are privileged to contribute to ISRO’s Moon mission through R&D work at the Sona College of Technology. The research team is committed to supporting ISRO’s future space missions, too,” said Prof. N Kannan, Head of SonaSPEED.
