Thiagarajar Polytechnic College, a part of the Sona Group, got the AICTE Clean and Smart Campus Award 2020

All India Council for Technical Education gives awards for clean and smart campuses to get attention from the stakeholders, especially from the students. They wanted to create an awareness and improve the scope of technology towards cleanliness, sustainability, and environment. With new technology like Internet of things (IoT), cloud, robotics, and automation the institutions can create a clean and smart campus. The award is issued to promote the same.

The jury assesses the campuses based on cleanliness in and around the institute campus, waste management and minimalization, water management and conservation, rainwater harvesting, wastewater management and reuse, plastic-free and green campus, and environment-friendly activities.

AICTE announced the Clean and Smart Campus Award for the year 2020. Among 12 campuses in India selected for the award, 7 were from Tamil Nadu. Out of which, Thiagarajar Polytechnic College, a part of The Sona Group, is one.
