Thiagarajar Polytechnic College, won National Industrial Innovation Award 2021 from CII
Thiagarajar Polytechnic College won 1st prize in a national level Industrial Innovation Award 2021 by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The prize is awarded for designing and developing social innovation projects.
The students at the college from the Mechanical Engineering department have designed and developed two projects. One team has developed an e-bike from scarp materials and named it FUERZA. Another team developed an automated trolley for picking products at shopping malls, which is named Smart Dache.
One of the Civil department teams led by Principal Dr. V. Karthikeyan developed a smart farming device. The innovation is based on IoT (Internet of Things) technology. The device is named “Crop Guidance and Farmers’ Friend”. Another team developed a Virtual Reality Cycle Racing Game.
Another Mechanical Engineering department team has developed a low-cost corn separator. The Production Engineering team developed a smart fertilizer dispenser. The Computer Engineering team developed an e-bus pass.
The Principal, Chairman Mr. C. Valliappa, Vice Chairman Mr. Chocko Valliappa, and the Department heads wished the students to innovate more and become excellent entrepreneurs.
