Vee Technologies, a part of The Sona Group, in association with John Hopkins, launched Vee+ Svasa app.
Vee+ Svasa app is developed out of social and humanitarian interest for the people who are home quarantined when affected by the virus. The app is developed by the Vee Technologies Software team in Bangalore, Tamil Nadu, and New York. The content and self-care instructions are resourced from the verified and authorized institutes like the John Hopkins University School of Medicine, US; the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR); and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
To avail the globally accepted standards of care protocols for home quarantine cases, Chocko Valliappa, Valliappa Foundation Trustee, approached John Hopkins for the treatment tips and got overwhelmed by their warm response.
During the peak second wave of the pandemic in India, a lot of affected people were home quarantined. It was a hard time for people to take care of themselves and get over the difficult times. The app will give them authentic tips to treat themselves without fear.
The app was developed after a pilot study on useful content for affected people. A hundred students from the Sona College of Technology helped in research the people's needs by collecting suggestions from the people. Also, the app features the current services offered by the state government like listing the available beds for patients, vaccination centers, and doctors available for teleconsultation.
